This place is a gem! A bare bones cabin in the middle of a wilderness paradise. We were there for 2 days and saw a total of 4 people while we lounged on a secluded spot on the river. Scenery and serenity was amazing. Put down your phones and just take it in.

A super enjoyable rustic stay in a remote little corner of a lake. Trevor, the host, is great and provided us with a cooler to stock food items and even provided us with some fresh fruit and vegetables. We were able to grill, stargaze, see wildlife and relax. A nice value and incredibly private."

We loved the relaxing weekend on the island- truly a unique experience... Fishing was easily accessible- literally 5 steps out the front door. The cute town was a paddle and short drive away and allowed us to restock on groceries and ice as well as catch the football game. We had a great time and would readily go again.

Loved it!!! This cabin is about as rustic and secluded as it gets while still being a quick drive from town. The views are incredible, and literally the only distractions you'll find... [I] read a lot of books and took the dog on nice long scenic canoe rides. Trevor is very hospitable and made sure I had everything I needed. Can't wait to go back!

Trevor is a fantastic and welcoming host and was great with our dog too! We loved feeding the horses and taking pictures around the beautiful property. Because of the rain, we didn't want to take the canoe out, but we will definitely return to explore the waterways someday. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Clean and homey. “We loved spending the weekend at the farm! Trevor was great at switching up our reservation when it was going to be too cold to stay at his other cabin. Once we were there, he got a canoe set up for us, provided us with firewood, and even let my husband borrow a pair of muck boots. We spent the weekend exploring the trails behind the farm, canoeing, and visiting a couple of the local wineries. We're looking forward to hopefully returning and staying at his other property once it gets warmer!” -- Emily

“If you like rustic and being off in your own little world this is the place to do it.” -- Kyle
“This place is wonderful! Trevor met us with the key and information about how to get to the island, after having helped out with directions when we got a little lost on our way to the property. The canoe paddle was beautiful and helped set the tone for a couple of days of peace and relaxation. My boyfriend and I spent two days reading on the deck and hammock with coffee, exploring the rest of the lake via canoe and enjoying some campfires. The place was stocked with all of the silverware and cookware that we needed and there was a great stock of firewood. I can't say enough about how great a time people will have there, when happy to go a couple of days with water from a jug and a solar panel for electricity when needed.” -- Patricia

“Awesome place! The 15 min canoe ride to the cabin is very scenic. The cabin itself is stocked with equipment to cook and normal camping stuff. Fire pit was great and overall it's a great place to stay! Trevor is very quick to respond to any messages and is very welcoming. I would recommend this place to a friend.” -- Pawel
“We stayed for just one night while passing through town and we were really glad we did. It was fun getting to feed the horses and explore the canals in a canoe.” -- Shannon
“Such a unique and fun experience! I’d says it’s just a step up from camping since you’ve got a bed, but it was so nice that we slept in the hammock outside. It’s a great place for a small getaway not too far from a city. Everything you need was provided including bug spray and sunscreen. Trevor was super easy to work with and very nice. 100% am going to book this again!” -- Maggie
“The cabin with the private island was beautiful!” -- Dominique
“My wife and I spent one night at the cabin for a little getaway and it was absolutely perfect. Definitely rustic, but everything you need for a great night away from it all. The location is beautiful and the cabin is a great way to camp without having to rough it too much.” -- Jeff
“This is truly an incredible place to stay! We stayed at the cabin with our dog and our 7 month old son and it was the perfect little adventure for us. Trevor was very prompt and attentive to our needs and answered all the questions that we had about bringing a baby to the property. The weekend started with a row to the cabin and then we spent the next couple days in the hammock, around the fire and with binoculars glued to our eyes to take in all of the wildlife around. The island makes for very easy and excellent bird watching! We only wish that we had more time to spend looking around the farm. Highly recommend staying with Trevor!” -- Laura
“This cabin/island stay was perfect for a weekend reunion of two best friends who love to adventure in the great outdoors together! From hiking the scenic (and informative!) trail, canoeing the beautiful back streams, throwing some fishing lines, playing a round of disc golf with our thoughtful host, Trevor, to simply relaxing by the fire while experiencing a breathtaking sunset. This is a simple, peaceful, and beautiful spot that we found to be a welcomed change of pace/scenery and a total blessing! Trevor was an excellent host with his quick responses, accommodating our specific arrival time request, and just making sure we had everything that we needed. He also went above and beyond by setting up his 9 hole disc golf course for us (totally spur of the moment!) when he noticed that we had brought our discs with us. He even asked if he could play a round with us! So if you too are a disc golfer, make sure to bring your discs and invite Trevor to play a round with you! We’re already eagerly awaiting future adventures together on this memorable cabin/island!” -- Grant
“A great place! Very bare bones, think glamping, but what a great place to relax!” -- Missie
“This was my first outdoorsy vacation. It was a great camping experience with tons of privacy. There are animals you can interact with, local fishing spots, there’s a nice fire pit for grilling your food and you’re really out in nature. My boyfriend and I chose to unplug electronically and that was such a good decision. It’s in a very small town with not much to entertain yourself with but the cabin and the property are great. There’s a 15-20 minute canoe ride back and forth to the cabin which took us quite a few times to get the hang of. If you want to be outdoors and enjoy nature and unplug, this is a great spot! Trevor was very helpful and kind. You’ll have a great time just don’t forget bug spray!” -- Elly
“Trevor was super helpful, responsive, and more than accommodating. He went above and beyond making us comfortable with our dog, who has severe aggression (hence the private island retreat). Description of the place is very accurate, it's essentially a step above camping, perfect if you're trying to get that escape. There were quite a few bugs, but Trevor provides everything needed to handle them (bug spray, tiki torches, and a mosquito net above the bed). I still recommend a hat and pants/long sleeves when possible. I've already recommended the main land stay to a few friends. Trevor was an excellent host, 10/10, can't wait to stay again.” -- Zachary
“We stayed only one night at the island cabin, and we loved it! The description is very accurate, and it was exactly what we were looking for for a mini "escape" for my husband's 30th birthday. We had two adults, two small dogs, and our 5 month old son. Our dogs LOVED the freedom to roam around the little island (and try to toad hunt at night, haha). Our baby loved laying outside on a blanket, listening and watching nature. It was about a 10 min canoe ride to the cabin (give or take a couple min). It was a little hot and humid during our stay, so we left the windows and back door open to try to catch some cross-breeze. The mosquitoes (those pesky things) were annoying but tolerable at night-time and thankfully, Trevor provides all the essentials for trying to keep them at bay. I would recommend long sleeves and pants if you can bare it. However, during the morning/day, we saw almost no mosquitoes, so they seem to just wreck havoc at dusk. Trevor was very helpful and accommodating. We saw no other people (one boat off in the distance), which is the type of escape my husband loves. We didn't explore in the canoe, but there are several little water ways that you could. We just loved hanging out on the island in the hammock enjoying the scenery!” -- Gina
